Winter doldrums set in….

Festivities are complete, New Year's parties have passed and the days are short and cold. For those of us who have lived with addiction, it is often a time to want to crawl into bed and hide. This is the time for extra special care. Take time for you. Try these 3 simple approaches to self care:

1. Remind yourself that your loved one's addiction is not your fault.

2. Take a book to a cozy coffee shop. Read for half an hour.

3. Have a massage, a manicure, a pedicure. 

Most of all - remember that you are worth it. The more you focus on yourself rather than on the addict, the better you will feel.
